You will need a pattern in order to make a leather bag or accessory. We have lots of different bag patterns to choose from, such as a crossbody bag pattern, a bucket bag pattern, a pattern for a leather satchel, a card case pattern, a bi-fold wallet pattern, a pattern for a leather waist bag, and many more. The handbag patterns come with detailed instructions and all the stitching holes are pre-marked along with the positions of magnets, snap fasteners, D-rings and rivets. The stitching holes on the patterns are based on 4mm pricking irons. What is great about buying a bag pattern rather than attempting to make one yourself is that you do not have to count all the stitching holes, and make sure that you have an equal amount of holes on each piece and that they match. We have done this on all our patterns so you can concentrate on making your bag or wallet.
You can also find some free patterns on our site, such as a free strap pattern and free patterns for different types of leather key rings (or key fobs).
Our leather patterns are made for creating beautiful and timeless bags, wallets and accessories. To make these DIY leather bags you will not need to use a sewing machine. Once you have made a few bags from a template and understand the basics, you can also start making your own patterns. Check out this article on designing your own bag.
